In John 1:1, it says, in the beginning... before there was anything, the Word (Jesus), the Word (Jesus) was with God and the Word (Jesus) was God Himself. Genesis 1:1-2, reveals God with the Holy Spirit in the beginning and John 1:1 reveals Jesus present in the beginning. This firmly establishes the presence of the Trinity before creation existed.

In John 1:3, it says 'all things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being.' Everything exists through Jesus Christ, whether you acknowledge it or not. God made us, we are His, accepting or denying won't change that truth. In Psalm 100:3 it says '...It is He who made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]. Everything, seen and unseen came into being because of Him. In Acts 17:28, it says 'in Him we live, move and have our being...' What does this mean for us today? One word. Submission. Submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, to God and to the Holy Spirit. This also means we are only stewards of everything, our lives, our bodies, our relationships, our finances and everything He has entrusted to us. Remember, without Him, not even one thing was made that has come into being.

In John 1: 4 and 5, we see two prominent words, Life and Light.

• Life- In Him was life and this life was the light of men- this is a profound statement, how is the life in Jesus, the light of men? In Him is eternal life and this life is the awakening, salvation of men.
• Light- This Light, this salvation, this access to the God's presence, no darkness, no human design, no authority or power can comprehend or overcome it.

Though we might think we have the freedom to do anything physically, spiritually, you are either under Jesus or you are not. Come under the Lordship of Jesus and let His Life be your light.
